So I am very excited! we are finally getting close to having our record out. This has been in the works over the past 4 months or longer and I am so ready for it to be done. We had a local artist do the band logo, my friend Robbie did the layout, Little Mafia Records is putting it out 500 Random colored Vinyl w/ Cd. We got test pressings about 2 or so weeks ago and they sounded great and today Gianni posted a photo of 4 of the records to show what they look like. Every record is supposed to be slightly different from the next when doing random vinyl. At this point we have to have the sleeves printed and have a record stuffing party to get it all put together. Here is a photo of the front & back of the record sleeve as well as the vinyl itself.
So I recently signed up for netflix and I am so stoked about getting all these movies delivered and watching tons of cool stuff that you cannot find at blockbuster or anywhere else. Eric just recently told me about this movie and I had to check it out, it's called werewolves on wheels. I mean need I say more, werewolves, choppers, naked girls, and cool music. The Movie was pretty short and well honestly nothing amazing but entertaing to say the least. I say you should check it out if you like that sort of stuff. Here is a brief plot summary for the movie as well as some cool movie posters and a trailer.
As a group of bikers moves across the desert, they come across an old church that a satanic cult has taken over. The cultists give them drugged food, and the bikers soon fall asleep. That night the cultists cast a curse on the biker leader's girlfriend, that makes her turn into a werewolf after nightfall. She soon infects her boyfriend. The bikers leave the church, and begin to be killed off whenever they stop for the night. Things come to a climax when the couple changes in front of the bikers, who quickly kill the beasts. The bikers return to the church to have their revenge, but stop when they see their faces in the cult.
Man I have been super lazy about posting in my blog and I need to get past that. My band is gearing back up to play shows after taking a 6 month break since January. We have our first show August 8th with one of my favorite bands Witchcraft whom are from Sweden. If you don't know them and love old pentagram, black sabbath, and roky erickson check them out. I am in the process of having 2 new shirts designed and hopefully a bandanna for this show coming up. I also had my good buddy Robbie Knight design a gig poster for the show and I screen printed it this past week. This is my first screen print that I have ever done on paper, that was almost completely done alone with minimal help. I thought it came out pretty damn good for printing on black paper and only coming slightly out of register which you can barely tell. Printing posters is something I have wanted to do for a very long time and I am finally getting myself going in that direction. We have an automatic flatbed press at my work that we have only used 2 times and it was to print this poster and one for our last show which came out good for not using real poster inks and a glossy paper. I will include some photos of the process down below. Please bare with the photos, the first one is the one I just printed and I only have a crappy photo of it and the last is the first poster we ever printed on that press.
I have been a huge fan of general mills monster cereals since I was a kid and to this day frankenberry remains my favorite cereal. However most people don't remember the 2 long lost monster cereals, YUMMY MUMMY & FRUIT BRUTE not to mention the awesome art!
I finally got a long overdue bootleg copy of Legend Of Billie jean on dvd today from my buddy. I have been hounding him for well quiet a long while to hook me up with a copy and he finally came through today. I watched it and it was as amazing as when I was a kid. Makes me want to change my name to BINX!
I really want a Nudie suit, For you that don't know Nudie suits were famous among country & western stars in the 40's, 50's, 60's, & 70's. I would say that the gold suit he did for Elvis is probably his most recognizable one however the ones he did for the flying burrito bros are probably my favorites of his as well as little jimmy dickens suits. Here are a couple of photos one of gram parsons (flying burrito bros) and Porter Wagoner. You can check out Nudie's website for some extra photos and more history about him. http://www.nudiesrodeotailor.com
